TV 5 battles it’s way to win Media Cricket League Champion Ship  2014

Hyderabad, 7th March, 2014: 12 balls left and 17 runs to achieve. Not so horrendous task as the batting second team might have thought. But it all changed as a chain of wickets fell in that second last over. The match turned over resulting TV 5 to beat ABN Andhra Jyothy in the finals of Media Cricket League. With over 12 media channels participating in the unique cricket league hosted only for media, in order to give them a de- stressing relaxation time from their busy schedules, players worked their wit out to push the extra mile. True professionalism and sportsmanship where the adoptive traits which the journo’s imbibed and displayed throughout the tournament. Toss won by ABN Andhra Jyothy, their captain chose to field first. TV 5 openers started well and the team could manage to put 133 runs on the board for the fall of 7 wickets. It was then ABN which started chasing the total with ease. Will defensive technique and a few stupendous shots now and then the team managed to reach close to the defenders total. But it all changed in those last 12 balls when ABN had to make 17 runs. With good strikers from ABN, everyone thought it would be a cake walk. But some amazing bowling from TV 5 changed the games favour towards them resulting in a close finished game. TV 5 won by 13 runs over ABN Andhra Jyothy with made 120 for the loss of 9 wickets.
Speaking during the presentation Mr. Atul Trivedi, CMO, Apne Dam Par ( Rashmi Sri Sai Ram Property Developers) said “Both the teams played really well. It was really surprising that the players finished the match with such professionalism. The entire motto of giving media an opportunity to ease off and de-stress from their busy schedule was fulfilled. I wish that this Media Cricket League will be more successful in the years to come.“  It’s good to see gentle men’s playing the game in it’s true spirit… free of “fixing” allegations… he further added in a joyous mood.
Actor Rajesh of Happy Days fame, Mr. Praveen, Chairman (Incredible India Projects), where the other dignitaries present at the presentation ceremony. Media Cricket League ended on a high spirit and a positive note with players from both the teams congratulating each other and with appreciations all over the ground.
The matches were held at BMR Cricket Ground, at Langer House.
